Add and Manage Custom Pages

Plan limits for custom pages: Custom pages are a paid feature currently available to sellers on Diamond and Platinum plans. Gold sellers can upgrade to get this feature.

Custom pages are the perfect way to share more in-depth information with customers. Each one you create is automatically added to your store’s navigation. Here are a few ways to take advantage of this feature in your own shop.

Give more information

  • Include an About or Bio page to tell your story and show off what makes your shop special.
  • Set up a Frequently Asked Questions or Policies page to give everyone the rundown on what to expect when ordering from you.

Show off your work

  • Put together a lookbook and include shots from your latest collection, all on its own page in your shop.
  • Add an image gallery to display happy customers with your products.

Supply visuals

  • Embed media, like videos or a music player.
  • Add images by uploading from your device or drag and drop.
  • You can even change the dimensions after adding them and include alt-text for improved accessibility.

Control the format

  • You have complete control of the page, choose how you'd like to see text aligned.
  • Clear formatting that accidentally pasted itself in.
  • Undo/Redo as you please.
  • Easily switch between text and code.

Make new friends

  • Embed a newsletter signup form in a custom page to collect fans.
  • Share a list of brick-and-mortar shops that stock your goods, with info on how a new retailer can add your work to their inventory.

The best part is it’s super simple to add and edit pages in your admin. You can even drag and drop your images and include clickable links without needing to do any coding. So go on, get writing!

Create a Custom Page

  1. Log in at app.bigcartel.com
  2. Click  Shop settings → Shop designers
  3. Click into the Pages section.
  4. Click the Add a new page + button.
  5. Name your page and add your content. Use the editor buttons to drop in images or links, or switch to HTML mode if you'd like more control.
  6. Click Done to save the page and return to the Pages list.
  7. When you’re ready to make the page visible in your shop, click Publish. To undo changes, click Discard.

If you’re not quite ready to publish yet, you can click Exit and come back to the page later. After you publish, your page link will appear in your store’s navigation.

Be sure to click Done after creating your page. If you exit before clicking Done, the page won’t be saved to your Pages list.

Edit an existing Custom Page

  1. Open Shop Designer → Pages.
  2. Select the page you want to edit.
  3. Make your changes in the page editor.
  4. Select Done.
  5. Preview and publish your changes.

Changes won’t appear on your live shop until you publish them.

Reorder Custom Pages

The order of your Custom Pages determines the order in which they appear in your shop’s navigation.

  1. Open Shop Designer → Pages.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. Use the two-line icon to drag each page into the order you want.
  4. Review the new order in your shop preview.
  5. Publish your changes.

If your template supports it, you can use the Navigation and Layout panel to control how many Custom Pages appear in your main navigation. Any remaining pages will move to the footer navigation.

Depending on your template, this setting may be labeled:

  • Navigation Items
  • Pages to Show in Your Header
  • Custom Page Limit in Header

To adjust where your pages appear:

  1. Open Shop Designer → Navigation and Layout.
  2. Find the navigation setting available for your template.
  3. Use the dropdown menu to choose how many Custom Pages should appear in the header.
  4. Check the preview to confirm that the correct pages appear in the header and footer.
  5. Publish your changes.

Delete a Custom Page

  1. Open Shop Designer → Pages.
  2. Select Edit.
  3. Select the trash can icon next to the page you want to remove.
  4. Select OK to confirm the deletion.
  5. Publish your changes.

Deleting a Custom Page permanently removes it from your shop. Any links leading to that page will stop working. If customers should be sent somewhere else, create a redirect from the old page URL to the new destination.

If your Custom Page isn’t showing

Check that:

  • You selected Done to save the page.
  • The page appears in your Pages list.
  • You published your changes.
  • Your plan includes Custom Pages.
  • Your Navigation and Layout settings allow the page to appear in the header or footer.
